How Important It Is to Keep Hope Alive?
Did Oprah Winfrey ever know that after abandoning her home where she daily saw herself being abused by her family members, she was destined to be one of the most influential people in the world and her name would turn into an empire which would worth around 2.7 billion dollars? Did Howard Schultz ever imagine that after tasting a beverage from a coffee shop called Starbucks, he would turn the small outlet into one of the largest beverage empire of the world? For a man who grew up in an orphanage and lost a part of his finger working in a factory, did Leonardo Del Vecchio ever dream that he would be one day utilizing his skills in producing the best ranges of eyeglasses like Ray ban and Oakley which we so proudly brandish to our friends? I bet none of them had expected to make an impact on what they considered the impasse, but I am sure they hoped. People blame circumstances all the time for their failures but do they really have that Hope?
People all over the world are hoping for something right now. Some hopes are about tomorrow, some about yesterday, some hopes are impossible and some hopes have already turned into reality. It is hard for me to grab the concept of hope explicitly because I know I am hoping for a lot of things in my life. " Your hopes are too high" some people will say, " your hopes are too low" some people will press. A family burns to death outside a government office with hopes that the people inside will listen to them, a son stands lost in line during a disaster managing emergency hoping his mother will eventually find him, a wife waits at the airport for the return of her husband who hadn't contacted her after he left for war. But why am I saying this? Why these numbers of incidences which have nothing to do with financial security, a better place to live in, power, etc. I am saying this for the people who have given up hope, abandoned their dreams, weighing on those couches and waiting for something to happen. When a family wouldn't give up their home against cruel litigation, when a child doesn't give up searching for his mother, when a wife holds her tear in hope to see her husband return from death, when they don't give up hope, why would you? You think what you are hoping for is different? God has made us different in every aspect, that is why we hope for different things. Why do you think he created so many of us? To keep hope alive. You are nothing when you have no hope, you are a machine which can't be utilized in any way. Has life been unforgiving to you lately? Has it happened that no matter how much you tried, nothing seems to be happening? Has life made you weak, too weak to perform or to even think clearly? It is not new when your partner leaves you, it is not new when you didn't get the expected results you were hoping for, it is not new that you feel lonely and cut off from the outside world. Don't let these feelings define who you are, instead hope for something better and be the force behind your own change.
We often hear it in the news about people giving up, people who couldn't cope with the dealings, people who thought that other people has given up on them. If you really want to give up, then give up that late night drinking, give up that partner who despises you, give up your friends who wants you to change, give up that job you hate, but don't ever give up hope. Hope is a pressing need in our society, people are becoming too weak nowadays. They see a path and they decide it is going to be too long and they give up. Remember that no matter how long your journey is going to be, there is always a destination. No matter how flooded your path is, there is always a stone to put your step on. Don't give up, fight for what you believe in. We are the same people who have revolted for centuries, we are the same people who have suffered for decades, we are the same when I say "we". My hopes are not more significant than yours, and our hopes, are all connected somehow you'll know. Let's hope for Love if love is what you need, let's hope for freedom if that is what you want to breathe, let us hope for health, let us hope for your loved ones, let us hope for happiness, let us keep hoping. Do not fear about dwelling in places where no man has trekked before, do not fear about shaking hands with your enemies, do not fear your decisions, do not fear people judging you, do not put fear where hope can be placed. Be the one person you were supposed to be, that unique one and make a path so blazed with fire that it will show light for the people who are in the dark.
I am Hoping for a better world and I cannot simply explain this term but... What are you hoping for???
